I am often asked the question - "Chip, can I put my wife's suitcase on the Canoe?". I will try to answer.
C-way luggage system "Canoe" and "Canoe 2.0" is designed by engineers taking into account all dynamic loads and manufactured by us from quality materials. It can withstand almost any reasonable operating conditions.
But it should be understood that the total weight that a motorcycle luggage system can withstand is limited by a number of factors:
- driver weight
- passenger weight
- weight of luggage in motorcycle trunks
As you can see in my videos, the C-way "Canoe" and "Canoe 2.0" luggage system easily supports my weight, which is around 70 kg.
But this does not mean that the system can be loaded with a similar weight, since it is located in the rear of the motorcycle, behind the rear axle. This means that there is an uneven load on the axles, which can affect the handling and braking distance of the motorcycle!
Recommended weight of cargo on C-way luggage system "Canoe" and "Canoe 2.0" 20-25 kg (44- 55 pounds).
If you want to load your C-way system "Canoe"/"Canoe 2.0" more, I do not recommend doing so and the consequences will be at your own risk.
So put your things on the C-way "Canoe" and "Canoe 2.0" trunk. And put the things from your wife's suitcase in the "Gold Wing" side tranks.
Attention! A load of more than 25 kg (55 lbs) can greatly affect the handling and braking distance of your motorcycle. Be aware of this when loading the motorcycle.
